Installation of Pillar-Mounted Jib Crane

Before installing the pillar-mounted jib crane, verify the product and technical documentation against the packing list to check for any missing items or damage. Any bending, twisting, shaft rusting, or impact damage caused during transport must be corrected or restored. Additionally, rotating parts such as shafts and bearings require cleaning and lubrication every six months.

**Installation of Pillar-Mounted Jib Crane**

**I. Installation of the Jib Crane Pillar**

When installing the pillar, ensure it remains vertical relative to the ground. Anchor bolts must be tightened securely, with no looseness allowed. The base plate must fit snugly against the foundation. If an electric hoist is included, the foundation should incorporate pre-embedded cables and grounding facilities; the embedded cable should extend from the foundation, and the grounding resistance must not exceed 4 ohms. For column-clamping jib cranes, first connect the lower section (containing the rotating cylinder) to the concrete column using threaded rods, then install the upper connecting plate.

If using chemical anchors, first secure the large base plate to the ground with them. Ensure the base plate remains level. Once the chemical anchors have fully cured, position the pillar vertically on the base plate and connect it. (Note: The floor thickness should exceed 300 mm with a concrete grade of ≥C30; for reinforced concrete floors, the thickness must reach at least 200 mm. If these standards are not met, installing an embedded foundation is recommended.)

**II. Installation of the Jib Arm**

Install the jib arm according to the following sequence:

Lift the jib arm (beam) into a horizontal position;

Connect the slewing mechanism to the jib arm and install the gear reducer;

Install the electric hoist and trolley onto the jib arm's track (follow the installation instructions in the electric chain hoist's *Operation and Maintenance Manual* strictly);

Install the C-rail at the end of the jib arm. A custom-made sliding trolley is installed inside the C-rail; it must be positioned on the same side as the electrical control box of the electric chain hoist.

Wire up all electrical components on the jib arm, leaving a power cable of appropriate length; secure the cable to the C-rail sliding trolley using cable ties.

Once the above steps are completed, the jib arm assembly is ready for overall hoisting and installation.

After the main assembly is finished, install the drive gear protective cover (a custom part from Shuangdiao).

Note:

When installing components such as the slip ring inside the column, take precautions (e.g., tying them with a rope beforehand) to prevent them from accidentally falling into the column (this step is already completed for Shuangdiao products). If the unit is to be installed and used outdoors, reliable rain protection measures must be added.

After assembling the jib arm to the column, ensure the following:

The rollers must fit snugly against the raceway;

The jib arm must be able to rotate smoothly and freely 360° around the column;

Adjust the shims so that the tip of the jib arm achieves an upward camber (deflection) of F ≥ R/250 (where R is the slewing radius).
