The pillar-mounted jib crane consists of a pillar, a slewing arm, a jib drive unit, and an electric hoist. The base of the pillar is anchored to a concrete foundation using anchor bolts; a motor-driven reducer unit rotates the jib arm, while the electric hoist travels back and forth along the jib's I-beam.

Pillar-Mounted Jib Crane

Before commencing any operation, the operator must verify that no unauthorized personnel are on or near the crane and that there are no obstacles in the surrounding area; the operator must then sound the horn before starting.

All movements and braking actions of the crane components must be gradual and smooth to avoid impact; sudden reversal of direction while the machinery is running forward is prohibited.

When lifting heavy loads, outriggers, load-bearing beams, and rail clamps must be used in accordance with regulations.

When lifting loads, the operator must ensure that no one is positioned underneath or in the path of movement; if anyone is present, the horn must be sounded, and the operation should only proceed after they have moved away.

Speeds for independent crane travel or travel while carrying a load must adhere to the manufacturer's manual; exceeding speed limits is prohibited.

The crane must not be parked on a slope; if parking on a slope is unavoidable due to special circumstances, wheel chocks must be properly applied.

Parking or performing lifting operations on unstable tracks, poor-quality track sections, or over switch points is prohibited.

When performing lifting operations on a curved track, the rated lifting capacity must be reduced by 20%; when traveling with a load on a curved track, the capacity must be reduced by 40%.

Traveling with a load on slopes exceeding the limits specified in the operation manual is prohibited.

When multiple cranes are operating on the same track, the distance between crane hooks must be at least 5 meters; if cranes approach each other while traveling, signals must be exchanged to provide mutual warning.

In the event of derailment or mechanical failure during operation, the operator must immediately lower the load. If the load cannot be lowered, the area where the load might fall must be secured and protected.
